BGI Genomics Fuels Genetic and Healthcare Research Advancements in Uzbekistan

During the meeting, issues of attracting investments to Uzbekistan for the development of genomic and biotechnological research were discussed. In particular, an agreement was reached on the transfer of technologies for the introduction of screening for carriers of genetic diseases.

BGI Genomics highly appreciated the pilot project of the joint company "Genscreen" being implemented in the country to screen newborns for 48 metabolic diseases, and outlined ways to expand the range of medical studies for the population of the republic.
