DX Sales Manager

(Home Based – Continental US)

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a passionate sales executive experienced in the molecular in vitro diagnostic industry with near term focus on BGI’s COVID-19 business. He/She should be able to identify new business opportunities and to develop new accounts to contribute to BGI’s diagnostic business growth in the North American markets. The position is an early hire of BGI Americas’ commercial team for IVD business, with potential to contribute strategically to BGI’s global expansion of its IVD business.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Grow new business of BGI’s FDA EUA IVD products for COVID-19 testing in North American market.
  2. Proactively identify and develop new diagnostic customers of BGI’s emerging products for COVID-19 testing.
  3. Work with technical support team to implement proactive assessment plan at customer laboratories to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  4. Establish productive, professional relationship with key personnel in customer and partner companies.
  5. Work with product marketing and technical support teams to develop laboratory partners and Key Opinion Leaders to evaluate and market BGI’s new product solution.
  6. Support BGI regional and global leadership teams to identify and evaluate new business growth opportunities in IVD industry, including product launch, licensing and other business partnerships.
  7. Work with essential functions of BGI Americas diagnostic division to improve and refine business infrastructure for long term business growth.

 

Job Requirements:

  1. S. in life science, biology or business required. Advanced degree (Master, Ph.D. MBA) is preferred
  2. Proven successful sales experience in IVD business domain. Experience in molecular diagnostic device preferred.
  3. Demonstrated business development ability of growing Diagnostics / IVD business through external partnerships.
  4. Minimum of 5+ years commercial experience in Diagnostics / IVD industry.
  5. Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and master highly technical concepts and articulate them well to others
  6. Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate well and think quick on your feet

Inside Sales Associate

(Boston, MA based)

Responsibilities:

The Inside Sales Associate is part of the Inside Sales team under BGI Americas Genomics Services business. He/She will support the Regional Sales Managers to manage BGI’s genomics service business with industry, academic and government accounts nationally. Responsible for lead generation,  qualification, project transactions and account management, resulting in revenue generation and business growth.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
  2. Qualify and nurture lead to project closure and/or route qualified opportunities to the appropriate Regional Sales Manager for further development and closure.
  3. Directly manage designated accounts from lead qualification to project closure.
  4. Lead generation and mining from market research and intelligence.
  5. Support regional sales managers to follow up business opportunities timely to increase conversion rate.
  6. Understand and maintain current knowledge of the company’s products and services. Keep informed on technology development, market competition, policies and regulation, etc., in the genomics space. Utilize resources and perform research to determine sales patterns and strategies for different market sectors.
  7. Perform territory business analysis and report results to Regional Sales Managers and management on a regular basis. Evaluate lead to opportunity ratio, aging opportunity report and lost business report and review with Regional Sales Manager.
  8. Attend national, regional conferences, trade shows, online events, corporate meetings as scheduled.
  9. Understand BGI value in broader scope and being able to communicate BGI vision beyond sequencing services.

 

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum BS in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics or equivalent science degree.
  2. Basic understanding in selling next generation sequencing and other genomics services such as microarray, genotyping, diagnostics, etc. > 1 year of relevant sales and/or technical support experience preferred.
  3. Basic understanding of the market and customer needs within the Next Generation Sequencing industry.
  4. Excellent communications, analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will provide technical support and education to new and existing customers of our genomics service portfolio. The FAS will serve as the scientific/technical expert and partner with commercial teams to best support our academic and industry customers in the Americas region.

Essential Functions:

  1. Understand and maintain current knowledge of the company’s products and services. Keep informed on technological developments, market competition, policies, and regulation, etc., in the genomics space. Be well versed in genomic tools and applications in academic research, drug R&D, diagnostic, and other industrial applications.
  2. Provide expert knowledge of services and applications to customers. Provide consultative scientific support, e.g. assisting with experimental design, workflow optimization, etc. Coordinate with Sales and Business Development teams to accelerate the sales process and secure contract executions.
  3. Work with customers, product, and project teams to design and execute important pilot studies. Perform protocol evaluation, data analysis to ensure that deliverables and workflows are aligned with customer expectations. Support sales and Business Development teams to secure important projects and collaborations.
  4. Provide post-sales technical support, address customers inquiries on data deliverables, and perform troubleshooting, identify the root cause and corrective actions to address customer concerns.
  5. Provide training and education to commercial teams in the Americas region. Work with the management team to ensure that the Sales and Business Development teams fully understand BGI’s technology strengths, and can effectively communicate product features and values to the customers.
  6. Develop customer-facing seminars and presentations for the Sales and Business Development teams, and participate in the training for new sales employees, and ongoing training of the sales and support teams.
  7. Attend national and regional conferences, trade shows, and corporate meetings as scheduled. Work with product and marketing teams to monitor technology trends and competitive intelligence.
  8. Assist product and marketing teams to develop/review scientific content for tech notes, service overviews, newsletters, web content, FAQs, etc. Provide technical recommendations to the product management team to help optimize and improve the product portfolio.
  9. Assist product management team to evaluate and execute co-development and co-marketing collaborations with partners in the Americas region. Coordinate execution of project workflows that involve US partners through such collaborations.
  10. Perform a technical assessment on emerging technologies and products and make recommendations to enhance the company’s product portfolio.

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum MS in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or equivalent science degree. Ph.D. preferred.
  2. Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of next-generation sequencing and mass-spec technologies. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of genetics, bioinformatics strongly preferred.
  3. Strong understanding of the market and customer needs within the genomics industry.
  4. Willingness to travel between 25 % – 50% of the time.
  5. Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

BGI Americas Corporation is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join its laboratory team under its Genomics Services business. This position provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge genomics technologies and contribute to BGI Americas’ goal of advancing genomics research and improving human health. As a member of the BGIA laboratory team, the position will execute next-generation sequencing projects, maintain and develop laboratory service menu, and improve laboratory operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing standard work procedures on a wide range of molecular biology techniques related to Next Generation Sequencing.

Essential Functions:

  1. Performs NGS experiments according to strict methodologies, procedures, and/or protocols and makes judgment-based decisions as necessary.
  2. Ensure defined quality criteria for automated NGS workflows are met.
  3. Evaluate new technology, execute technology transfer, continue to enhance the service menu of the laboratory
  4. Implements all safety and quality assurance policies and procedures when completing work.
  5. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment to carry out laboratory tests.
  6. Implement a lab-quality management plan that includes sample management, logistics, inventory
  7. Independently analyzes, interprets, records, and reviews testing results.
  8. Implements all safety and quality assurance policies and procedures when completing work.
  9. Tests out new NGS reagents to optimize workflow, SOPs, and available lab services.
  10. Functional understanding of Operational Excellence principles, including Lean, 5S, and Kaizen, and can apply them to the workplace.

Generates presentations about laboratory work for laboratory staff; compiles information for creating required documents and records; keeps current with technical developments especially those which can save time, lower cost, and improve reliability; devises new applications of NGS for laboratory in diagnostic or another field.
  13. Will utilize various manufacturing systems and applications for performing work duties, including LIMS and other proprietary software.
  14. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  1. BS in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry). Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Familiar with high-throughput production environment; experience with liquid handling automation preferred.
  3. Expertise in molecular biology techniques including PCR, genotyping, or sequencing; familiarity with molecular biology systems, processes, and high-end analytical instrumentation.
  4. Detail-oriented, excellent record-keeping abilities, analytical and organizational skills; Work well in a team setting.
  5. Experience with a repertoire of techniques in molecular biology, PCR, and RT-PCR is a plus.
  6. Experience in Industry, preferably having developed and transferred products to a manufacturing setting.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Summary:

 

The Regional Sales Manager will directly manage BGI’s genomics & proteomics service business with biopharma, academic, and government accounts of the US. The candidate will be responsible for growing territory revenue, managing and developing customer relationships in the designated business territory.

 

 Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage existing and develop new accounts for BGI’s genomics service business in the designated territory. Effectively represent BGI’s genomic sequencing and proteomics service portfolio to research customers in biopharma, academic, and government accounts. Be directly responsible for achieving designated territory revenue targets.
  2. Implement a consultative selling approach to understand customer’s project needs. Work with the technical support team to perform project evaluation, develop and communicate project proposals with customers, negotiate and close sales contracts. Effectively communicate BGI’s technology and product strength to customers. Develop competitive project solutions that meet customer’s expectations.
  3. Assume overall accountability for establishing and implementing an effective sales plan, meeting regional sales goals with budgeted resources, and developing key account sales strategies. Perform territory business analysis and report results to the Director of Sales regularly.
  4. Champion proteomics and antibody characterization services as new solutions from BGI’s newly invested San Jose Mass Spec center. Work closely with laboratory to perform aggressive new business development and collaboration engagement to explore and expand new business. Coordinate with corporate leadership to position a multi-omics product solution to early customers.
  5. Serve as BGI’s primary interface to customers and collaborators in the territory. Keep customers updated on BGI’s product solution, technology development, research advancements, and other corporate developments. Maintain and nurture valuable business relationships. Managing relationships with key opinion leaders to effectively influence existing and new customers with emerging technology and products.
  6. Effectively coordinate with Project Managers to ensure smooth execution of projects and proper communication of project status to clients. Work with the technical support team to perform troubleshooting and address customer inquiries to project deliverables.
  7. Attend and coordinate national and regional conferences, trade shows, online events, and corporate meetings as scheduled.
  8. Understand and maintain current knowledge of the company’s products and services.
