Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager/Director for Mass Spec Services will lead business development efforts on behalf of BGI Americas Mass Spec business in the US. The candidate will be responsible for developing key business relationships with biopharma, contract research organization (CRO), diagnostic, and key academic accounts in the United States.

The location is flexible. California Bay Area preferred.

 

Major Responsibilities:
• Develop new customer accounts for BGI Americas San Jose Mass Spec center. Nurture new customer accounts and establish a mature business relationship for BGI mass spec service business.
• Collaborate with existing BGI Americas commercial team to introduce mass spec analysis services to existing genomics customer base. Enhance customer experience and loyalty with multi-omics analysis solutions.
• Develop strategic business relationships with biopharma, CRO, and diagnostic accounts. Negotiate licensing, co-marketing, and other collaboration agreements to expand partnership relationships related to BGI’s mass spec and multi-omics platforms.

Job Requirements:
• Minimum BS in biology, chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or equivalent science degree.
• Minimum 3 years of account management and customer-facing experience in the biotech industry.
• Experience in mass spec products or services required. Experience with biopharma or CROs is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in selling genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and/or other omics services strongly preferred.

Position Summary:

The Mass Spectrometry Center in San Jose, BGI Americas, is looking for a full-time Mass Spec Project Assistant. The job position will report to Project Manager to support customer project management and daily lab operations. The main job responsibility is to assist Project Manager as well as production team to manage and ensure on-time delivery of Mass Spectrometry customer research projects, including but not limited to assist project management, inventory management, and production projects when needed. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate that he/she is capable of multitasking management, consistently following SOP to support daily lab operations and performing experiments and generating reports. A candidate with wet lab and/or HPLC/Mass Spec experience is preferred.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Working with Project Manager to keep track of and manage Mass Spectrometry projects, ensure on-time delivery of customer projects.
  • Working with Project Manager to support daily lab operations, including but not limit to: project management, purchasing, inventory tracking and management, sample receiving and archiving, lab cleaning and organization.
  • Check instrument performance daily and perform routine LC-MS/MS instrument maintenance.

As a member of the BGIA laboratory team, the position will execute next-generation sequencing projects, maintain and develop laboratory service menu, and improve laboratory operation. Essential Functions:

  1. Performs NGS experiments according to strict methodologies, procedures, and/or protocols and makes judgment-based decisions as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  1. BS in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry). Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Familiar with high-throughput production environment; experience with liquid handling automation preferred.
  3. Expertise in molecular biology techniques including PCR, genotyping, or sequencing; familiarity with molecular biology systems, processes, and high-end analytical instrumentation.

Position Summary:
The Senior Lab Scientist will work for a multinational genomics service company, responsible for its genomic laboratory operations in North America. He/she will be responsible for developing, validating, and administration of laboratory testing workflows in the local lab as well as improving integration into company’s global laboratory network.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Supervise qualified and trained personnel to perform genomics sample preparation, QC and genomics testing procedures in compliance with current standard operating procedures (SOP).

2. Evaluate new technology and protocols. Execute methodology transfer and verification for genomics service workflows. Maintain and expand laboratory service menus.

3. Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. Manage inventory of laboratory reagent and consumables.

This position will be responsible for providing pre- and post-sales technical support to new and existing customers of BGI’s COVID-19 testing solution. Major Responsibilities:
• Provide pre and post technical support to clinical laboratory customers in Canada to ensure successful adoption and employment of BGI’s COVID-19 testing solution.
• Provide technical consultation to new customers to assess customer’s experience and eligibility, laboratories’ readiness in adopting company’s COVID-19 diagnostic products. Guide customer to best prepare laboratory setup and staff training in order to ensure successful adoption. Perform training to customers to ensure proper use of company’s products during assay setup and verification phase. • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical assay development, validation and implementation. Familiar with setting-up & running PCR/qPCR assays on various RT-PCR instruments, nucleic acid extractions, in a BSL-2 environment required. Experience of performing molecular diagnostic laboratory testing with an advanced understanding of laboratory instrumentation in a clinical laboratory preferred.
• Familiar with clinical high complexity lab operation, FDA and/or Health Canada regulation in IVD products, training in quality compliance preferred.
• Knowledge of molecular diagnostics, next generation sequencing, genetic testing, bioinformatics preferred.
• Strong communication skills. Experience in customer facing technical support preferred.
• Willingness to travel 25% of time.
• Fluency in Mandarin a plus.
