Regional Sales Manager

(Washington, DC area based)

 

Responsibilities:

The Regional Sales Manager will directly manage BGI’s genomics service business with government, academic and industrial accounts in the Southeast region of US as well as Latin and South America. The candidate will be responsible for revenue generation and business growth in the designated geographical region.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assume overall accountability for establishing and implementing an effective sales plan, meeting regional sales goals with budgeted resources and developing key account sales strategies.
  2. Understand and maintain current knowledge of the company’s products and services. Keep informed on technological developments, market and competition, policies and regulation, etc., in the genomics space. Utilize resources and perform research to determine sales patterns and strategies for different market sectors.
  3. Perform territory business analysis and report results to the Director of Sales on a regular basis. Evaluate budget execution, product performance, operation efficiency within territory and report results/suggestions to leadership team.
  4. Identify key business opportunities in research, government and biotech space. Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders. Utilize customer resources to expand BGI’s influence and to secure key business opportunities.
  5. Effectively coordinate with Account Manager, Project Manager and the Production Team to ensure smooth execution of projects and proper communication of project status to clients. Work with Product Managers through collaborative projects with key clients to drive product development.
  6. Attend national and regional conferences, trade shows and corporate meetings as scheduled.
  7. Understand BGI’s value proposition in broader scope and be able to communicate BGI‘s vision beyond sequencing services.

 

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum BS in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics or equivalent science degree.
  2. Minimum 3 years of account management experience in the Biotech industry.
  3. Proficiency in selling next generation sequencing and other genomic services such as microarray, genotyping, diagnostics, etc.
  4. Strong understanding of the market and customer needs within the Next Generation Sequencing industry.
  5. Willingness to travel at least 50% of time.
  6. Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.
  7. Requires American citizenship or valid US work permit.

Director of Product Management

(Boston, MA or San Francisco Bay Area)

 

Responsibilities:

The Director of Product Management is responsible for managing BGI’s product portfolio for BioPharma services. This individual will be responsible for leading the BioPharma product management team based in both US and China. Responsibilities include:
1. Be in charge of BGI’s BioPharma product portfolio and manage their product life cycle
2. Conduct market research, market assessment, competitive evaluations, analyze current product performance, and assess overall competitiveness of product portfolio
3. Analyze and recommend new product and service offerings or improvements to current products
4. Gather input, both internally and externally, to define product concepts, develop detailed requirement and implement plans
5. Work alongside Marketing team to develop or improve products, define sales tool requirements and generate product documentation, launch/represent products through key marketing channels
6. Coordinate with production team, R&D, or other BGI headquarter product teams to access/generate data or results in support of product development
7. Present products to key customers/collaborators, monitor Product Co-development products

 

Qualifications:

1. Minimum MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or equivalent science degree.
2. Minimum 5 years of product development, product marketing experience in BioPharma or diagnostic field
3. Knowledge of drug development, biomarkers and companion diagnostics
4. Candidate must be a highly motivated strategic thinker and be customer-focused, set high standards, and possess strong strategic planning and analytic skills
5. Must have strong communications skills and experience creating presentations and delivering them to groups of executives, analysts, and customers
6. Must have previous experience developing Product Roadmaps, Product Launch Plans, Marketing Plans, presentations and sales tools
7. Experience with product management including strategic planning, requirements gathering, execution and research
8. Strong multi-tasking skills required

Director/Senior Manager, Project Management – BioPharma

(Boston, MA or San Francisco Bay Area)

 

Responsibilities:

The Director/Senior Manager, Project Management – BioPharma is responsible for leading a global project management team that supports business transaction and project execution. The project management team serves as an essential interface between clients, business development and production departments that ensures smooth project delivery and communication. The position is responsible for establishing and improving the infrastructure for global biopharma project management, ensures effectiveness of individual team members in their project management role, that is essential for customer satisfactory and business sustainability.

1. Ensure project managers are appropriately assigned to support the business development team that manages global and local biopharma accounts. Prepare quotations, draft work orders, provide necessary technical support to assist deal closure and project initiation.

2. Comply with corporate business policies and legal requirements, ensure readiness of account and project documentation before project initiation.

3. Ensure the projects are appropriately assigned and communicated to production department through project coordinators, according to product line requirements and project priorities. Utilize LIMS system to document and manage projects from initiation to completion.

4. Provide regular updates to clients on behalf of the BD team throughout project execution process. Provide TAT estimates, communicate sample and data QC results, data analysis requirements. Proactively coordinates troubleshooting, etc.

5. Manage invoicing, billing and relevant business practices in conjunction with accounting to ensure revenue recognition.

6. Setup and improve global project management infrastructure and workflow esp. for clinical trial projects.

7. Work with laboratory and QA teams to accommodate lab audits. Communicate with client on audit requirements. Work with QA to implement corrective actions if needed.

8. Assist business development team with management and development of client relationship. Improve customer satisfaction that lead to long term business sustainability.

9. Coordinate with other biopharma departments to differentiate BGI brand in biopharma business.

 

Qualifications:

1. Minimum MS degree in related field, PMP certification preferred

2. Minimum of 5 years experience in project management or other related experience in the CRO market

3. Solid knowledge and experience in the clinical NGS or molecular diagnostics market segment

4. Ability to communicate effectively over the phone, online, and in person working with both clients and colleague

5. Previous experience successfully managing multiple/integration projects is a plus

6. Management experience preferred

VP of Commercial Operations – BioPharma

(Boston, MA or San Francisco Bay Area)

 

Responsibilities:

The VP of Commercial Operations – BioPharma is responsible for managing BGI’s Business Development and Product Management teams for BGI’s global bioPharma business. This individual will report to the General Manager of BGIA, Head of Biopharma Business, and be responsible for leading the global BioPharma commercial team. Responsibilities include:

1. Manage the day-to-day operation of the business development team. Implement BGI’s business plan in the biopharma sector to achieve annual revenue targets assigned to the global biopharma team.
2. Leverage prior career experience to develop business opportunities and client relationships. Achieve market penetration and brand awareness leading to long term business growth.
3. Develop and implement product roadmap for BGI’s biopharma business. Manage BioPharma product portfolio and product life cycles, develop long term strategy for biopharma product development.
4. Lead a product management team to conduct market research and competitive evaluations, generate product content and convert to sales tool through marketing support.
5. Identify KOLs to participate in early access projects for new product launch. Develop collaboration projects with key business partners that demonstrates in-depth value of BGI BioPharma product and solutions.
6. Coordinate with marketing, define product marketing strategy to better position BGI products in the biopharma industry. Better represent BGI’s brand awareness and its products through key marketing channels.
7. Contribute industry insights and resources, as part of the leadership team to further develop/improve BGI’s long term strategy in the pharma/CRO space.
8. Work with Corporate Development team to source and evaluate M&A opportunities specifically relevant to biopharma business.

 

Qualifications:

1. Minimum MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or equivalent science degree.
2. Minimum 7 years of business development, product development or product marketing experience in BioPharma or diagnostic field
